Microsoft officially released the latest version of Windows 11 23H2 on October 31, 2023, which will be automatically downloaded and installed via Windows Update on all devices that meet the minimum system requirements to run Windows 11.
But, unfortunately, if you have already installed Windows 11 22H2 on a system with unsupported hardware, you won't automatically receive the 23H2 update through Windows Update and you will not be able to install it manually via the Windows 11 Installation/Update Assistant with the error message "This computer does not meet the minimum system requirements to install Windows 11".
To bypass this problem and to update your system from Windows 11 version 22H2 to Windows 11 version 23H2, follow the instructions below.
How to Update to Windows 11 23H2 on Unsupported Hardware (The Easy Way)*
* Note: If, for any reason, you cannot update your system to Windows 11 version 23H2 using the instructions below, follow the steps in method-3 of this article: How to Update to Windows 11 22H2 on Unsupported Hardware.
Prerequisites:
1. Install all available updates: Go to Start -> Settings -> Windows Update and click Check for Updates [1]. Then, let Windows to search for updates and if found click Download & install [2] to install them.
2. Make sure you have installed one of the following required updates for Windows 11 23H2:*
- 2023-11 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5032190)
- 2023-10 Cumulative Update Preview for Windows 11 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5031455)
* Note: To find out if the above updates are installed, go to Windows Update and click Update history. Then check the list of 'Quality Updates' to see if one of the above updates are installed. If not, click one of the links above to manually download and install one of the required updates from the Microsoft Update Catalog.
After doing the above, you are ready to update your system to Windows 11 23H2 by simply installing the KB502739 Enablement package, which unlocks the installation and new features of Windows 11 23H2 which according to Microsoft are already installed on your system but are inactive. So, to update to Windows 11 23H2:
1. Download the KB502739 Enablement package, from one of the links below:
For x64 systems (most computers):
For Arm64 systems:
2. After downloading, double-click at the downloaded file and click Yes to install the Update KB502739.
3. When the installation is completed, click Restart now to reboot the PC.
4. After restarting, you should have the Windows 11 version 23H2.
